Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked with a warning above “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC., ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.”, “223 REM” and “83 LK G” at the chamber. The right side of the barrel is marked with inspectors marks at the breech. The bottom of the bolt is matched and hand-marked “1382”.

Sights / Optics: There are no iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a pair of base and rings holding a Leupold VARI-X III 6.5-20×40 scope. The scope has some light handling marks. The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear, the scope rates in about Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a textured black composite H-S Precision stock with a palm swell pistol grip, straight comb, and beavertail forend. There are some scattered light handling marks and a few rubs. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber buttpad. The pad has some light handling wear. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The bolt handle has gone plum. There is some faint thinning on the edge of the muzzle. There are some tiny marks into the finish on the trigger guard. The markings are clear. The screw sockets are strong. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger has been worked on and our congignor states that the action has been blueprinted. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This 700 is chambered for the popular .223 Remington and has a 24” barrel, blue finish, and H-S Precision stock. This one has had nice custom modifications fone further enhancing is performance potential and hitting your mark should be no problem with the included Leupold scope.
