Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked “BERETTA” and “Made in Italy Patented / AA242048”.  The left side of the receiver is marked “AL 391 Teknys – 12 ga. / BERETTA” and has a stylized three arrow logo. The underside of the receiver is marked with the “CD” date code and proofs. Both sides of the receiver have a blue enamel inlay with a three arrow logo. The left side of the barrel is marked “SPORTING / BERETTA – GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY / OB 12 GA 3” – 76 – 28” / OPTIMA – BORE”. The right side of the barrel is marked with the Beretta three line warning address.

Choke: Currently Installed is an Extended Modified choke.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a white bead at the muzzle on a ventilated rib and has a small metal midbead.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered wood with a pistol grip and adjustable straight comb. There is a blue enamel inlay on both sides of the wrist. There are some scattered light marks from handling. There are some more noticeable compressions and draglines on the left of the buttstock at the front of the comb and on the left of the forend at about the middle towards the top. The checkering is strong. The LOP measures 14 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber recoil pad. The pad has some light wear from use. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some little nicks and hairline scratches on the barrel towards the muzzle. There are a few scuffs on the barrel, most noticeable on the left side in front of the markings. There are some light scuffs and rubs on the matte top of the receiver. There are light handling marks and light operational wear. The pinheads are unmarred, the screw sockets of the adjustable comb show tool marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included are a blue hard case with chokes, a Beretta buttpad in Excellent condition, and Beretta balance system weights. The chokes are all extended and are Improved Cylinder, Improved Modified, and Skeet. The weights are Medium and Heavy (Light installed). The case has some scattered light scuffs and light marks from storage on both the interior and exterior, in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment: The Beretta AL391 Teknys is a dependable semi-automatic shotgun with a self-regulating gas system that can handle a range of loads from light target loads to heavy hunting loads. The shotgun has a replaceable rib and there is a weight system on the magazine tube cap so you can tailor it specifically to your needs. The beautiful wood and metal finish of this shotgun harken back to the days of old but the design and craftsmanship are all modern.
