Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece serrated black Polyamid 6 panels, typical of late-war Mauser production. The grips have light handling wear with some scattered light nicks, scratches and scuffs, most in the smooth borders. The right panel has a more notable scratch toward the top of the serrations. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There is infrequent light erosion in the bore

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at most edges. There are infrequent spots of light surface erosion. The most notable finish loss is handling wear in the grip areas and controls. The action shows operational wear. There are scattered spots of discoloration similar to oxidation. Some of this is dried grease, much of which wiped off but some of which is quite stubborn. Some may be the result of poor finish, common with late-war production. Some is discoloration from oxidation. The screw head is sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action trigger pull is a little heavy, the single action pull has a smooth takeup followed by a crisp break. The slide has minor play to the frame. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a brown leather shoulder strap holster and a single 8-round magazine with “jvd” marked on the left of the body and a poorly struck waffenamt on the bottom of the spine (Czech). The magazine has operational wear, infrequent minor surface oxidation, some light scuffs and scratches, intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Very Good condition. The holster is missing the post for its thumb-strap, showing verdigris around the post’s position on the holster and strap, scattered wear and discoloraion, fraying at some edges and intact stitching, in about Good condition.
