Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “45 CAL. MODEL 1955”. The side plate has S&W’s monogram logo, the right side of the frame has the four linie Marcas Registradas. The sides of the grip frame have inspection marks, the butt is marked with the serial number. The yoke cut and yoke have inspection marks. The ejector rod shroud recess is marked with the serial number. The rear face of the cylinder is marked with the serial number and so is the front face of the ejector (no letter prefix).

Barrel Length: 6 1/2”, Pinned

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade with a red insert attached to a serrated ramped base set on the serrated rib. The front sight is an aftermarket modification. The rear sight is a flat top square notched insert with a white outline in a base that is click adjustable for windage and elevation, with the white outline the insert may be a replacement.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece black rubber Hogue Monogrip with finger grooves and their pebble texturing. The grip has some minor scuffs and light handling wear. The texturing is strong. There are no rips or tears. The grips rate in about Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is shallow but sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. There are scattered dings, scratches, and some scrapes, the most noticeable are on the barrel. There is some thinning on the edges. The barrel has finish loss on the sides of the muzzle. The smooth combat trigger appears to be a replacement, these were shipped with target triggers. The cylinder has a turn line that is partially through the finish plus some light thinning on the edges. There are some fine streaks from use and stoarage. The markings are clear. The screw heads show tool marks with serviceable slots. Overall, this revolver rates in about Very Good condition as Modified

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The sinlge action is crisp and the double action is smooth. The cylinder produces only very light play in full lockup of each chamber with light back play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
