Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered deluxe walnut with wide finger grooved forend, fluted straight comb, and solid brown rubber Remington buttpad. The front of the forend iron is bent inwards and there appears to be a small chip loss repair on the edge just in front of the forend iron. The rear of the forend iron at the receiver presents gaps to the wood. The stocks have some little dings, a few small compressions, and some light handling marks. The left of the wrist has two small hairline cracks at the bottom tang. There is a small chip loss at the rear edge of the buttstock on the right side down by the toe. The most noticeable defect is an impact mark on the right side of the stock at the fluted of the comb. The checkering is strong. The LOP measures approximately 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 13″ to the back of the wood. The pad has some rub wear mainly at the heel and toe. The drop at comb is about 1 1/2″, drop at heel is about 2″. The cast is about neutral. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in either bore but the top bore has a very light ringed depression about 2” forwards of the mid bead, it can hardly be felt when running a finger over the barrel.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 92% of its metal finish. The receiver has some small spots of finish loss from previous oxidation and spots of light oxidation, the oxidation is mainly on the bottom. The trigger guard has some spots of finish loss from previous oxidation mainly at the rear. The top tang has spots of oxidation. The top of the rib at the chamber has a light scrape. The barrels have some mottled discoloration likely just from oil. The mounting base of the bracket at the front of the barrel assembly and barrel release lever have drifted to plum. The rib has a few scuffs and there are a few spots of frost on the edges. The barrels have a few very small marks into the finish, most noticeable on the left of the top barrel about 3” from the muzzle. The pinheads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This was sent back to Remington to upgrade the internals indicated by the “.” in the serial number and Allen bolts at the breechface. The barrels lock-up to the receiver with no play. The trigger is mechanically operated. The safety selector is a switch behind the lever, right for top-barrel first, left for bottom and the center position is safe. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
