Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “44 Magnum”. The right side of the barrel is marked “Mountain Gun”. The yoke cut is marked with the serial and model numbers. The right side of the frame is marked with the four-line Marcas Registradas address. The sideplate has a large S&W monogram logo. The butt is marked with the serial number. The yoke and sides of the grip frame have inspection marks. The interior of the ejector rod shroud is marked “S”.

Barrel Length: 4?, Tapered

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade pinned to a serrated ramp base which is integral to the barrel rib. The rear sight is a square notched leaf in a S&W micrometer click base that is adjustable for windage and elevation. The topstrap, under the rear sight, is drilled and tapped for a scope mount (none included).

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece black rubber S&W branded Hogue monogrip with finger grooves and their pebble texture. There are a few light scuffs, most noticeable on the bottom. There are some light handling marks. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in Fine Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the Electro Chemical Machined rifling is strong and well defined. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The cylinder has a thin, light turn line. There are some swirl marks and draglines from use and storage. There are some scuffs and rubs that have caused smooth spots, some of the most noticeable are on the cylinder and the trigger guard. There is some light operational thinning on the hammer and trigger. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup has almost no play on each of the six chambers. The double action trigger is smooth and the single-action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching blue S&W case with paperwork including the manual. The case has some scattered scuffs, some light scratches, and some stress discoloration. One of the clasps is loose. The case rates in about Very Good condition.
