Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right “S.&W. 357 MAGNUM”. The left side of the frame has S&W’s monogram logo, the right has the four-line Marcas Registradas. The yoke cut is marked with the serial and model numbers. The yoke and sides of the frame have inspection marks. The butt is marked with the serial number. The interior of the right grip is marked “MAR 1987”.

Barrel Length: 4”, with full underlug and solid, serrated rib.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade with a red insert, integral to a rise in the solid, serrated rib. The rear sight is a flat top, square notched leaf in a base that is micrometer-click adjustable for windage and elevation.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood target stocks with S&W medallions at their tops. There are patches of finish loss, mainly on the edges around the checkering and bottom edges. The right panel has what appears to be some glue at the corner where the backstrap widens into the frame. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a small spot of surface oxidation on the back of the frame above the group frame serrations. The cylinder has a thin turn line through the finish. The hammer and trigger have thinning. Otherwise, there are just light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder produces very light side to side play with no measurable back play in full lockup of all 6 chambers. The double-action trigger pull is smooth, the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
