Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BEFORE USING GUN – READ WARNINGS IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM / STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.” and with a circled “SR” proof. The right side of the barrel is marked “.357 MAGNUM CAL.”. The right side of the frame is marked “RUGER Redhawk” and with the Ruger eagle logo. The bottom of the grip frame is marked with the serial number. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “S”.
Barrel Length: The barrel is 5 ½” in length with a full-length rib and a half-length underlug.
Sights / Optics: The revolver is mounted with a square notched white outline rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation that is pinned into the top strap. The top strap has protruding ears to protect the rear sight base. The front sight is a serrated red ramp dovetailed into the barrel’s rib. The top of the barrel rib is serrated to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth walnut with silver Ruger Eagle medallions. The grips show some very light draglines from use and storage and some little scuffs and thin light scratches on the bottoms. The grips are in Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are swirl marks and light handling marks scattered over the surfaces. The grip frame appears to have been polished by a previous owner. There are some scuffs and impact marks on the grip frame. There are some little scratches on the recoil shield. There are some scattered little scrapes, most noticeable on the left side of the top strap, bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard, and sides of the barrel at the muzzle. The cylinder has a complete drag line. The screw heads are faintly used and the markings are crisp. Overall, this revolver rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions properly. The double action trigger pull is smooth and the single action trigger pull is crisp. The cylinder lockup is SOLID on all six chambers. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included are a factory cardboard box and paperwork including the manual.
Our Assessment: This is a stainless steel Ruger Redhawk with a 5 ½” barrel and adjustable target sights. The action on this good-looking revolver is very tight – it likely hasn’t been shot much. The revolver is in Fine condition with about 96% of its finish remaining. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. This revolver is perfect for carrying when out in the woods, especially for those fishermen who like to ply their hobby around big brown bears who don’t like to share. It can also be used for home protection and for revolver silhouette matches. Ruger has made tough as nails guns for decades with some reloading manuals providing separate data for their guns, this one will be no different and serve its new owner for years to come.
